How to Run Your Projects with Parallel AI Agents on Discord

Want your own multi-agent team running your operations? Learn to use Discord channels to manage, designate, and execute everything in parallel with OpenClaw agents.

Want to build and manage your own multi agent team?

I launched my new community for founders and entrepreneurs to build, run, and maintain your own multiple agent taskforce command centre.

What’s inside:

  • Live Q&A's and build walkthroughs for your own multi agent taskforce
  • Access to every new agent, skill, workflow, and automation we build
  • A community of founders like you, building real agent systems for themselves

Overview

Telegram queues every task through one chat, one agent working through your requests in order. Discord gives every channel its own OpenClaw agent, so content, research, outreach, and client projects can all run at the same time instead of waiting in line behind each other.

Each channel becomes an independent agent session sharing the same workspace and files, but keeping its own conversation context, so a content brainstorm and a client's data never bleed into each other.

Once Claude Code is already wired in, setting this up takes about 15 to 20 minutes.

How does this help?

  • Removes the single-task bottleneck: content, research, outreach, and client work run simultaneously instead of queuing behind one thread
  • Keeps every project in its own isolated context, so nothing gets crossed between unrelated conversations
  • New channels inherit the same gateway connection automatically, so spinning up another parallel agent takes seconds, not a fresh setup

Apps and tools

  • Discord (server plus Developer Portal access)
  • OpenClaw, with the Discord gateway configured
  • Claude Code
  • Claude Sonnet or Opus (or Kilo Code, Codex, Mistral, MiniMax, local GLM via Ollama)
  • Optional: Mac Studio or Cloudflare Workers, for always-on hosting

Main steps: building your parallel agent workspace

Step 1: Understand why Discord beats Telegram here

  • Telegram queues every task through one chat, linearly, one agent working through requests in order
  • Discord gives each channel its own agent session, so work runs in parallel rather than in sequence

Pro Note: Think of Telegram as five employees lined up to walk through one door. Discord lets each employee walk through their own door at the same time. Telegram can still run parallel workflows through separate groups, it's just a different setup.

Step 2: Set up the Discord bot for OpenClaw

  • Create an application in the Discord Developer Portal, configure bot permissions, and add it to your server
  • Drop the bot token and server ID into OpenClaw's configuration

Tip: Use Claude Code to troubleshoot this step. Bot permission and token issues are exactly the kind of thing it resolves fast, most people finish this step in 10 to 15 minutes.

Step 3: Duplicate channels to spin up parallel agents

  • Duplicate an existing channel and rename it for the project, e.g. marketing-ideas, video-ideas, product-ideas
  • Tag OpenClaw with a focused first instruction, the new agent is live within seconds since it inherits the gateway connection

Pro Note: Inside a new product-ideas channel, tag OpenClaw and ask something like “Focus on improving my social outreach content, give me 20 ideas for X campaign.” The agent responds instantly, already scoped to that one channel's context.

Step 4: Give each channel its own skill file

  • Write a dedicated SKILL.md for each channel, defining that agent's role and rules for its specific project
  • Keep the files separate per project, e.g. video ideas, marketing, client outreach, so each agent behaves like a specialist rather than one generalist juggling everything

Final checklist

  • Discord bot created and connected to OpenClaw's gateway
  • One channel duplicated per active project
  • Each channel tagged with its first, focused instruction
  • A dedicated SKILL.md written for every channel
